A sworn translation is a translated document which has official recognition, and has been translated by a translator who has been authorised by a public authority. In Spain, sworn translators are authorised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. For the aforementioned translation to have legal validity, it must include the signature, stamp and certification of the sworn translator.
Depending on the country, the figure and name of a sworn translator may vary but the essence remains the same. Regardless of whether we are dealing with a sworn, public, official or certified translation, the procedures in different countries remain similar. However, before starting a translation of these characteristics, one must know the destination and use that will be given to the translated document.
n certain cases, it may occur that for the translation to have official value, an additional procedure must be carried out which includes the Hague Apostil. This apostil is an additional note which acknowledges the legal efficacy of the translated document and it is recognised in all countries that adhere to the XII Hague Convention.
At ALPHA TRANSLATIONS we provide sworn translations in several languages, certified by sworn translators authorised in Spain and in other European and American countries.
As well as the sworn translation service, at ALPHA TRANSLATIONS you may also procure services involving simple translation, interpretation, localisation, transcription, style correction and subtitling.
